mission to get Marinites moving more. The U.S. surgeon general recommends that, to help maintain a healthy weight,
adults should get 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical exercise at least five days a week. Marin County
Department of Health & Human Services’ Director Larry Meredith has taken that advice to heart and is committed to
promoting physical activity. The Department has developed a resource to make it easy for all in Marin to be physically
active. That resource is MarinOnTheMove.org, an integrated website that features fitness tools and resources,
including videos, a calendar of events, and a host of activities which include groups, facilities and locations,
safety tips, together with information describing the power of physical activity on health. Visit us at
www.marinonothemove.org, and let us know what you would like to see.
